Chapter 1: Gaining intel

{The Nest of Maggots, prison facility}

In the lowest level of the Seireitei's prison facility known as 'The Nest of Maggots' , a door slowly opens… it allows no light to pass through.

Blaze Kagayaku, captain of squad fourteen walks the candle lit hallway; metal bars to his left and right, only darkness remain in front of him.  Blaze shows no sign of fear, only disgust as he approaches a large steel door with a series of metal bars from side to side, whatever is in this room is supposed to stay inside;

"Captain Kagayaku, what are you doing here?" a voice asks. Two guards step out from the shaded corners of the wall.

Blaze stared at the door, not breaking his gaze;

"That shouldn't concern you… open the door now… this is an order" Blaze replied in a soft but serious tone.

The guard to his left looked to the other in confusion on what they should do, they decided it was best to listen to Blaze and turned to face the door. In a matter of seconds it opened, Blaze stepped inside he glared at a black steel box which was located in the center of the room, there was tags all over it… seals to be correct;

"Well well…. You're the last person I had ever expected to come visit me" a loud voice rang in Blaze's ear, it echoed in the large room.

Blaze turned and shut the door. When the door slammed shut, candles ignited from the shadows to illuminate more of the room. Blaze got a better look at the box, it had a little window where ahead should be and the miniature window had metal bars to enclose the space.

"Trust me; I won't be here for long… Kogeta Kagayaku" Blaze felt sick saying his father's name; he stared into the window and saw the side of his father's face, the light from the candles made it somewhat visible.

A long, silent moment passed by seconds turned to a minute before Blaze stepped forward;

"The head captain won't tell me enough information that I need to know… he said you helped fight off two powerful individuals back before I was born" Blaze started, a feeling of hatred for Kogeta had never left his body but he knew that if he wanted answers… Kogeta was the one to ask. "Last night I ran into two men who I described to the head captain, he believes their names to be-"

"Hurry up and spit it out, boy" Kogeta cut off blaze, he was agitated but blaze could see his smile through the dim light

"As I was saying, Yamamoto believes their names are Lucia and Helen Kasashi" Blaze finished, he felt uneasy as he saw Kogeta's smile fade as soon as he mentioned those two.

Kogeta backed away from the window on his sealed prison, Blaze could no longer see him now;

"Well well… They've come back with intentions filled with rage I suppose… Blaze, everything I ever did was to make sure you were strong enough to survive… please go nowhere near these two… this I beg of you" Kogeta begged blaze, his voice was quiet and filled with concern and not only caught blaze off guard but disturbed his emotions.

"If need be I will confront these two again, I need answers… Kogeta if you want me to live like you truly say then tell me what you know about Lucia and Helen!" Blaze yelled now.

"Alright then, I'll let you know what I can… just be careful. Long ago, before many of the current seated captains were actually even captains, two small boys appeared in front of the seireitei gates with no explanation for their arrival. An orphanage decided to take them in but when things started to get weird they contacted the Central Forty Six and told them about some strange incidents that were occurring" Kogeta started to explain their history; Blaze stayed silent making sure not to miss even a breath.

"These two boys had strange side effects from time to time, they noticed that Lucia began to have a series of weird markings on his back that linked to each other, when his emotion of anger grew, the markings started to glow. As for Helen, his left arm has strange markings all around his skin, Central forty six had a meeting and decided that these two mysterious shinigami should be kept at the Shinigami Research and Development Institute. Day in and day out, tests were ran on these two. Many soul reapers had to assist in the tests and these tests agitated the brothers… many soul reapers who got close without proper equipment lost their lives" Kogeta continued, he glared at Blaze, Blaze had an expression of complete astonishment across his face.

"The Shinigami Research and Development Which was led by squad twelves nimble Captain, Urahara and his top scientist Gemma Toshiko. together they created a type of seal to suppress the powers of the Kasashi brothers. Lucia received a series of metal ands over his Right arm with multiple chains connecting, it was supposed to weaken his strength… but Lucia's pure will had corrupted the seal and allowed him to manipulate the seal in fact, he can choose when to unleash his full powers when he wants to. The same thing with Helen almost happened… Helen was given a Kido endowed bandage that had been applied to his left arm but the strange markings on his skin corroded the bandage and took over said seal… he to can decide whenever to unleash his true potential" Kogeta smirked saying this.

"How did these two escape?" Blaze asked, that question clouded his mind during their whole conversation.

"One day the Central Forty Six decided to keep Lucia and Helen under the table, so to speak. This means they didn't want anyone to know of such mysterious but dangerously powerful shinigami…they ordered their memories erased, I even believed that this would work to calm their anger… their rage came from being treated like animals… they were born into this world already branded a threat before we could get to know them, when the day came to erase their memories… mysteriously they found new power… their zanpakuto had come to the aid of Lucia and Helen Kasashi" Kogeta shut his eyes after having said this, he tried to remember every detail. "The two forcefully exited the institute and started wreaking havoc over the Soul society… destruction and death came with their rage. The only captains at the time that are still present were Joshiro Ukitake, Shunsui  Kyoraku , Retsu Unahana and the head captain of course… we four took on the Kasashi brothers and managed to confine them… many people died that day and we had managed to finally erase their memory with the use of a forbidden Kido… But they managed to disappear that very night thanks to the aid of one of the on-duty soul reapers who were operating the tests… a man known as Gemma Toshiko had helped these two escape their confinement and disappeared without a trace, all records of this incident were buried and any evidence of these individuals had to of been destroyed" Kogeta finished and Blaze was silent, he took in all the information as it came;

"You've proven to be useful Kogeta" Blaze replied without thanks as he turned and made his way to the door that he entered from;

"Wait, Blaze" Kogeta yelled stopping Blaze from moving, Blaze turned his head.

"We never fought the Kasashi brothers to their full extent… but I know one thing. Lucia has a dark spiritual energy emitting from him and that day I fought of countless Menos Grande… better classed as Gillian level hollows. As for Helen Kasashi, his left arm killed many soul reapers with just a touch… we never understood his mysterious power but his mastery in kido had amazed us all… My son, be safe" Kogeta informed Blaze yet again and sighed knowing Blaze wouldn't take his word into consideration.

Blaze nodded and turned back to the door, the door opened and Blaze stepped out. The door closed leaving the candles to die out and Kogeta left with his thoughts in the darkness.
{Outside the Nest of Maggots, prison facility}

Blaze exited the compound and stepped outside, he squinted at the daylight since the compound was fairly dim. Blaze was shocked to see a soul reaper crouched to his knees outside, Blaze could tell he was lowly ranked in the court guard squads.

"Captain Kagayaku, I have been sent by Captain Soi Fon. She is need of assistance, we were attacked and I must quickly be on my way to the head captain… I beg of you, help her" the soul reaper finished as he was already starting to back up, an expression of fear across his face and his tone was uneasy. Blaze asked the soul reaper where he could find her and followed in the direction he was told;

(C-Could it be them... already?) Blaze said in thought, he tried to waste no time and flash stepped quicker and quicker in their direction. Blaze could feel a spiritual pressure coming over him… it was strong. Minutes later Blaze burst through the tree line and flash stepped into the air. He saw squad 2's captain on the ground and injured, a man with long black hair and glasses had his zanpakuto just touching Soi Fon's shikai.

From what Blaze could see, the man's zanpakuto was very long and wide, red and green wires flowed in and out of the Blade and connected into the swords hilt, Blaze drew his zanpakuto but didn't unseal it as he descended quickly to the ground.

"Take this!" Blaze yelled as he caught the man off guard, the man pulled his sword back from touching Soi Fon's shikai, wires from his blade had been linked onto her shikai but released their grip once the man pulled back. The man flash stepped further back and swung his zanpakuto behind his back.

Blaze missed his attack but quickly glared back to the man;

"Who are you? What did you do to Captain Soi Fon?!" Blaze demanded and he held out his zanpakuto… unsealing his shikai as a red glow passed up the blade to reveal Kewashii Furea.

"Hmm a captain… you should be the second one today to fall to my shikai" The man replied with a devious smirk, he took his stance and Blaze awaited an attack.

"Gemma… you have acquired all the data you need, I suggest that you take cover and let us deal with this shinigami" a man said from behind Blaze.

Blaze turned and held out his Shikai in a defensive position; he saw two hooded Soul reapers standing behind him;

(How did they sneak up behind me without me noticing?) Blaze thought to himself and glared at the two)

The man that Blaze attacked earlier simply bowed and flash stepped away, seconds later Blaze could no longer feel his presence… it was Just Blaze and the two that stood in front of him now;

"I don't think we've been properly introduced" The man on the left said with a grin, the man on the left slowly took off his cloak.
